Entertaining, educational and nostalgic. Fun adventures. Great learning experiences.
Looking for an entertaining, educational and cornball TV series on DVD? Well, then the Magic School Motorbus Rides Again: All About Earth! is perfect for you. Although information technology is targeted toward a younger audience, I still found myself circumspect and interested in the story lines. Each episode has a fun risk, mixed with an enthusiastic learning experience. Information technology reminds me of how much I liked reading the original The Magic School Bus books when I was younger.
In the 4 episodes on this DVD, "Pigs in the Wind," "Hides and Seeks," "The Tales Glaciers Tell," and "Tim and the Talking Copse," the characters learn about the Earth's patterns and means of communicating and how it's important to take care of the Earth. They as well larn nearly wind patterns, how animals camouflage, how oxygen and carbon is preserved in glaciers for thousands of years and how ecosystems communicate with each other. And they besides see many sights from different time periods and places that make amazing field trips.
My favorite episode is "Hides and Seeks," especially when half of the kids become to travel to different geographic locations and study animals camouflaging to study back to the other half of the kids. We run across animals in the ecology atmosphere blending in, and in contrast nosotros see the kids in their game of hide and seek. This show is for younger audiences, merely some of the concepts are explained besides rapidly for me to grasp and won't make sense to everyone. A few characters are pretty dissimilar from the book, which makes them unique in this TV show. The voicing of the characters is realistic and fitting for their personalities. Although there is some repetition in ideas and story lines, it isn't enough to make the bear witness any less fun to watch. I would definitely watch this evidence in my gratis time just for fun.
I of the messages in this series is love the world and to protect information technology. This inspires people to preserve the wild animals and habitats. We are also shown that you tin can ever find fun in learning and it's easier to acquire when you become an inside look and explore things on your own, instead of read almost them in a textbook. Sometimes the kids in the evidence find themselves in a scary situation, just they are never in grave danger. Apart from some concepts beingness a little hard to understand this series is pretty child friendly keen for school-aged kids.
I give this DVD four out of five stars and recommend it for ages 6 to 13. Adults and teenagers may enjoy information technology as well. Reviewed by Rosemary K., KIDS Offset!

But sentry the original series.
Bring back the onetime testify. Bear witness it to a new audience. Washed. The original was great. My three boys watched all the episodes, growing upward, and aye, learned something simply were innocently entertained, every bit well. Back before political correctness. Each graphic symbol was unique and likable Information technology didn't need remaking - unless you are merely providing 'work' for Hollywood.

Kate McKinnon steals the show
I understand some people have their bug with this show but McKinnon and her energy she put in the Ms. Frizzle character is really practiced. I have always loved the magic schoolhouse jitney as a child and every bit an adult I admit that I actually like this show too. I say the kids accept a good treat to lookout man if the adults don't listen McKinnon.

Some remakes are skillful - non this one.
In that location is nothing so challenging as filling a competent person'due south shoes.
Though, some people don't care - or worse, don't know any better (see other SNL alum Jimmy Fallon).
It is clear that Lilly Tomlin is no longer with the bear witness - the wit (and much of the education) is lost.
If you grew up with Adventure Time maybe you might like the show? Merely somehow it's less educational than that.
All the charm of the original series is equally gone every bit Little Richard.
The 2nd star is only of merit for honor off what the testify SHOULD have been and once was.

Bang-up, but doesn't really stand up out to me anymore
It lacks the charm of the original shows. The science lessons seem watered down to squeeze in more wow gene and a little politicizing. The kids don't really figure out the lessons anymore simply rather are but shown them while the teacher explains. The rest of the world in the prove just accepts the magic double-decker equally normal for some reason.
The new Miss Frizzle feels more random than witty. She withal makes lots of puns though. The kids don't have personalities anymore. Instead each episode they pick a kid to be the primary "lesson learner" that takes something to excess and then they can learn nigh information technology. It might accept something to do with their personality, or it might not.
The applied science chemical element they added in is pretty fun, I think the fine art is expert compared to other modern CG cartoons, Information technology's not too bad on it's own every bit a evidence. Miss Frizzle nonetheless does the Q&A at the end of the evidence, which is pretty fun.
I don't think it really compares to the original show though. Still I hope they make more and improve on their formula a little.

I do non understand how this tin can be bad, It's trying to teach children! I likewise really like the new Flash Blitheness. I watched the first two episodes the day information technology came out, and it turned out to exist good! I watched some other ii episodes and it turned out to be actually expert! I'd requite this 7 out of 10.

Awful Reboot
The magic school jitney dies once more. The worst blithe Netflix show. Simply awful in every way. Voice interim awful, animation awful, writing awful. This is a disgrace to the original.

Recaptured soul of original, Jyoti is better than Phoebe, Specials have better art style
Warning: Spoilers
9Story did a skillful job at recapturing the soul of the original series. And I'k glad Phoebe's gone, because she was a little annoying, and her replacement Jyoti overall seems meliorate. The artstyle is kinda meh in the showtime and second seasons, having used boring flash, but when it comes to the specials (Flavour 3), they apply a fleck of CGI, which was the original goal of The Magic School Charabanc 360°. The Bus is in CGI now, and nobody'due south the aforementioned skin tone. My favorite episode of the series has got to be the one where Ms. Frizzle splits into iii (The Frizz Connection), equally nosotros become to discover more of her character - as the funny, daring, (and sometimes serious) teacher. Also, in Season 2, at that place's a musical about carrion, which is gold - er... brownish gilded every bit DA's uncle calls it in that episode. Overall, this is a solid continuation of the original serial, and the Bus volition forever ride over again in my middle.

Whahooo
My whole childhood gets a new take chances and I always wondered what information technology would be similar to have two frizzles and now I know how much fun it is in fact I'm convinced that Fiona frizzle was getting her teachers degree while her older sister Valerie was still instruction the kids in the original series my childhood memories of wanting to have a teacher like that oasis't even faded to this twenty-four hours even though I'g a 27 adult women please continue this show going strong because I can't stop watching the last episode of season two that's hinting there's more to come so equally Mrs frizzle would say have chances make mistakes go messy and make that third season happen

Stay with the original!
This is a poor remake of a classic. Voice work is disappointing, lessons are watered down. The characters are made to all be cookie cutter perfect instead of individuals. Sure different colors but their bodies are all the same and Ms. Friz is young and obnoxious. Miss the quirky wonderfulness.
Stick with the original.

My 7 Year Old Loves it!
I'm always pressing my youngest to scout educational programming if she's going to be planted in front end of the Television. She watches the episodes multiple times and loves absorbing the information and then sharing with and educating unsuspecting adults.
Honey the work by Kate McKinnon and guest stars.

its skilful, but depression enthusiasm and animation kills information technology.
Warning: Spoilers
Starting time off is the theme song, probably the best affair about the prove, it has a updated feel merely still pays homage to the original, I absolute love it.
The vocalisation interim was decent, most of the kids sounded similar the originals, but the actor who plays Frizzle's sister is so unenthusiastic, its like she just wants to get it over with, the roll of Frizzle requires enthusiasm, something the role player who plays her lacks.
Animation is the worst part, it looks so flat and blocky compared to the original series. If you take a look at the original intro, the blitheness is so fluid, something the re-kicking lacks extremely, it makes information technology so difficult to spotter.
The story line is OK though, it feels very reminiscent of the original while adding new aspects, something I think it really good.
If yous relish the original "Magic School Coach" and are not bothered by Flash Animation, I recommend information technology.

Magic School Bus: New Beginning, New Thrills, New Adventures
I remember watching the old series while eating breakfast, getting ready for another day of elementary school, and was excited during science class when the teacher turned down the lights, hit play and everyone watched the episode based on the subject field nosotros were learning.
It was great fun while information technology lasted, pitiful though that the series was over, the testify no longer aired, though those who enjoyed the old series purchased the DVDs that were released in store, but after all these years, to come across a trailer for the new series, the kid within that grew upwards groomed down equally I cruel in love with the series once it was finally released on the 29th on Netflix.
Equally for my thoughts, I love the new animation, much improve so the old cell animation with the one-time series. And so much tin can be done at present, new styles that could't be done before with the classic series. The class, beloved how each character was redesigned, maintaining the characteristics, pare and hair color to the previous series and the plots, applied science, the creators went with the modern day then old school. The music, peculiarly in the introduction really brought back memories, and I loved the new vocalism. The only negative affair I would accept to say that could be done was at the end of the intro, show what the episode was going to be, the title, like with the old series. That is my only concern, but as for the plot itself, it definitely follows and flows the same way with the archetype, specially at the end where Ms. Frizzle "Sr" answers questions the audience has, and even gives clues as to what the side by side episode would be.
I would defiantly say that with this new serial, the new generation of young kinds that are broken-hearted for learning, fun, and excitement volition love this serial similar I practice and will want to continue to lookout and know what will happen next in the exciting adventures of "The Magic School Passenger vehicle Rides Once more.

What happened to Keisha and Tim?!
The Keisha and Tim I grew up with were nighttime skinned and black-haired. They were not mixed or off-white skinned. Why the change? The educational quality of the show is ok, but this flaw stands out similar a sore pollex. What gives?!

Why
I watched the original Magic School Double-decker all the time when I was a kid, and... WHY did they flatten, remove, and add characters. In the original, each graphic symbol had his/her distinct personality that played an important role in each episode, now every episode revolves effectually one character with the rest just there. Plus, why'd they alter/remove Kiesha and Tim, two dark skinned character, and at present take none. That seems like a step-down in variety. WHY use Flash animations!!! They wait and so flat and boring, and to make up for that, they make all movements bouncy and unnatural. The erstwhile animation looked so squeamish, and the difficulty of true animation keeps weak ideas from always being animated and released! I call up the height of blitheness was the 90s, with shows like Magic School Motorcoach, and Disney movies similar Mulan and Tarzan. WHY are the lesson so bluntly obvious. This is a trend I come across in new kid shows, and information technology kinda stinks. Rather than trying to fit a lesson INTO the story. (which requires decent writing) Kid show writers instead make a flashy, interesting story, and so merely add together 5 minutes of dry lessons into the bear witness to explain it all. WHY does Netflix keep trying to dug at our nostalgic centre strings so we watch them? Netflix has been making a lot nostalgic television-shows. Some of them just experience rushed, hoping that the classic name volition save them.
At present, as much as I like the modernization of the show, information technology will seem very dated inside a few years, compared to the original. I can but think of 1 episode from the original that is truly outdated, the computer 1. Simply many episodes of the new ane contain unnecessary ties to popular culture that will out appointment information technology quicker than you can say "why." 2/ten
